The Castelli Body Paint 4.X Speed Suit is the fastest suit currently made by Castelli, developed for use in the WorldTour. It is available for sale to the public because the UCI requires racing technology to be commercially available in order to ensure a fair playing field for professional cyclists.
This suit is specifically designed for serious time trials and is optimized to deliver marginal gains at speeds of 28mph/45kmph and above.
Castelli has spent two years developing this suit, conducting wind tunnel testing and hundreds of hours of CFD analysis to ensure that cyclists who can achieve such high speeds will notice a significant difference. The brand's WorldTour level athletes certainly have.
Key features of the suit include a comfortable Progetto X² Air Seamless seat pad, extra-long legs with flat endings held in place by flat grip tape, long sleeves with grip tape to prevent them from riding up, and a cut that is primed for the extreme riding positions common in time trials. The suit also features a no-sew, stretchy, and breathable race number window to reduce drag, and is made from slippery materials with minimal seams.
Testing at the Norwegian Technical University has proven that the Body Paint 4.X suit is the fastest suit ever made by Castelli.
